Electrician I – Industrial Automation

Position Description 

IMG is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrician I – Industrial Automation to support the electrical build and integration of custom automation and assembly systems. This entry-level to early-career position works under the direction of the Electrical Lead and supports the installation, wiring, and testing of industrial automation equipment. The Electrician I assists in panel wiring, machine wiring, and system verification while developing technical skills in industrial controls and automation systems. This role requires a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and commitment to safety and quality. 

  Primary Responsibilities 

  • Assist with electrical assembly and wiring of custom automation equipment. 
  • Install conduit, cable trays, wireways, and routing of power and control cables. 
  • Perform point-to-point wiring based on electrical schematics and BOMs. 
  • Assist with wiring of control panels including relays, terminal blocks, power supplies, PLC I/O modules, and safety devices. 
  • Support installation of sensors, motors, VFDs, servo drives, and field devices. 
  • Label wires and components accurately per company standards. 
  • Perform basic electrical testing using multimeters under supervision. 
  • Support power-on checks and assist with troubleshooting efforts. 
  • Maintain 5S standards and contribute to an organized environment. 
  • Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements. 
  • Document redlines and communicate discrepancies to the Electrical lead  

  Education / Skills / Required Experience 

  • Technical certificate in Electrical Technology or related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience. 
  • 0–3 years of experience in industrial electrical work, automation, or machine building environments. 
  • Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems (24V, 120V and 480V). 
  • Ability to read and interpret basic electrical schematics (training provided as needed). 
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn automation systems. 
    • Domestic travel primarily; extended stays may be required during major installations. 
      • Positive, solution-oriented work ethic Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.

Pipefitter I

Position Description 

IMG is seeking a motivated and mechanically inclined Pipefitter I to support the mechanical build and installation of custom automation and assembly systems. The Pipefitter I is responsible for assisting in the layout, installation, and integration of pneumatic, hydraulic, and process piping systems within automated equipment. This position works under the direction of Senior Pipefitters and Pipefitter leads to ensure piping systems are installed accurately, safely, and in accordance with engineering drawings and customer specifications. This role embraces IMG’s core values and contributes to a safe, organized, and high-quality build environment. 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Assist in installation and routing of pneumatic, hydraulic, and process piping systems for custom automation equipment. 
  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, and assemble pipe and tubing using appropriate tools and equipment. 
  • Install pneumatic components including FRLs, solenoid valves, air manifolds, regulators, cylinders, and actuators. 
  • Support installation of hydraulic lines, fittings, and fluid system components as required. 
  • Read and follow mechanical drawings, layout prints, and pneumatic schematics. 
  • Ensure proper routing, clamping, and securing of tubing and piping systems. 
  • Assist with pressure testing and leak checks of installed systems. 
  • Maintain proper labeling and identification of air and fluid lines. 
  • Work cross-functionally with Electrical and Controls teams during machine build and integration. 
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout procedures. 
  • Support 5S standards and maintain a clean and organized work area. 
  • Document minor redlines or field adjustments as directed. 

Education / Skills / Required Experience 

  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • 0–2 years of mechanical assembly or pipefitting experience preferred. 
  • Basic understanding of pneumatic and/or hydraulic systems. 
  • Ability to read tape measures and follow technical drawings. 
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools safely. 
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills in automation equipment building. 
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.

Mechanical I

IMG is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Technician I – Industrial Automation to support the mechanical build and integration of custom automation and assembly systems. This entry-level to early-career position works under the direction of the Mechanical Lead and assists with the assembly, installation, and testing of industrial automation equipment. The Mechanical Technician plays a key role in machine assembly, mechanical fitting, and system verification while developing hands-on experience with automated equipment and tooling. This role requires a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and commitment to safety and quality. 

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Assist with mechanical assembly of custom automation equipment under the direction of the Mechanical Lead. 
  • Assist with machine structures including frames, guarding, and mounting components. 
  • Perform assembly of mechanical systems based on engineering drawings and BOMs. 
  • Assist with assembly of mechanical components including linear rails, bearings, servo-driven mechanical assemblies, fencing, Conveyors and tooling 
  • Label components and assemblies accurately per company standards. 
  • Support machine bring-up and assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues. 
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 5S standards. 
  • Follow all safety procedures including proper use of PPE and safe assembly practices. 
  • Document redlines and communicate discrepancies to the Mechanical Lead. 
  • Following IMG procedures and processes. 

Education/Skills/Required Experience 

  • Technical certificate in Mechanical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred, or equivalent hands-on experience. 
  • 0–3 years of experience in mechanical assembly, machine building, or industrial automation environments. 
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, including fasteners, bearings, linear motion components. 
  • Ability to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions (training provided as needed). 
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, tape measures). 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn automation systems. 
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required.
