Principal Engineer (Warren, MI). Responsible for overseeing Automation process development for new and existing projects. Prepare Technical process presentations in response to customer RFQs and develop resource schedules and RFPs. Lead validation of automation processes using simulation software and cycle time studies. Review and approve Electrical and Controls Design architectures from electrical team and set standards and modules for controls strategy used by Controls Engineers. Select new Controls and Electrical hardware to reduce cost and meet new customer and industry requirements. Develop Controls Architecture Libraries for standardization. Develop custom Vision and Thermal Applications for process monitoring. Review Technical project requirements and customer specifications. Take lead in Commission large scale automation lines. Breakdown commissioning tasks based on controls priorities. Requires Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Automation Engineering, and four years of industry experience in automation engineering. Experience must include developing automation standards, commissioning hot stamping lines, developing press automation and assembly automation processes, integrating custom vision systems to ensure error proofing, developing electrical and controls designs standards, developing resource schedules and RFPs, process monitoring to meet CQi-9 standards, and usage of RobotStudio. 10% travel within North America.
